Job Summary:

In accordance with the organization's mission, vision and values, the Vocational Rehabilitation Coordinator is responsible for educational and vocational rehabilitation counseling of individuals recovering from substance abuse issues. The coordinator will have additional responsibilities including but not limited to program development, training, coaching, and reporting.

The following duties will apply:

Duties Support and develop a team of employment specialists/counselors, including training, assigning duties, and performance evaluation. Provide direct support/coaching when needed to address any issues and concerns and to develop creative and proactive supports for persons served in the programs. Conduct weekly/bi-weekly team meetings with Vocational Staff Ensure guidance with program specific and agency policy and procedure. Assist in the development of identified person centered vocational rehabilitation goals. Academic and vocational test administration, scoring and interpretation of test results. Interdisciplinary staff meeting attendance and participation. Collaboration on recovery plans with the residential & clinical treatment staff. Participates in group and individual supervision and team meetings. Interface with education and vocational agencies that provide service to our clients to collaborate ongoing progress updates. Charting and documentation compliance, as per OASAS regulatory standards. Monthly statistics regarding client's participation in training, remediation, etc. are tabulated and given to the Departmental Supervisor. Visits to community agencies and

case conference participation are done on a periodic basis as determined by the client's treatment issues. Facilitation of vocational groups. Groups will focus on psycho-educational activities that prepare clients towards securing gainful employment. Develop and maintain positive and effective relationships with community groups, referral sources, planning, funding and service agencies. Coordinate community service. Work individually with clients to develop and implement vocational service plans. Other duties and functions as directed. Participate in the NYESS process when applicable.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Education, Vocational Counseling or Human Services related field and training and/or experience in vocational counseling in behavioral health care. QHP preferred. Valid NYS Drivers' License Other Skills/Knowledge and Experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with culturally diverse persons, staff and community service providers. Knowledge of local behavioral health service system. Ability to multi-task, have good problem solving & time management skills and the ability to remain calm in a crisis. E-Record.
