Description Job Title Youth Chaperone Location Fairbanks, AK, US Organization Name Tribal Development Job Summary Job Summary:
Under limited supervision, the incumbent will be responsible for supervising a group of youth aged 12-17 during TCC's Annual Convention, First Alaskans Elders & youth conference, Youth Summit and other conferences and meetings as assigned. Adhere to the TCC Ch'eghwtsen' model of service and guiding principle which requires providing timely and effective service along with the ability to interact with others in a way that inspires trust and demonstrates respect, compassion and empathy.

Representative Duties:
Under limited supervision, Youth Chaperone will: 1. Ensure the safety, well-being, and appropriate supervision of all assigned youth at all times, including during travel, overnight lodging, meals, activities, and transitions between events. 2. Assist with activities such as cultural art project; ensure the youth remain actively engaged in their projects, leadership activities, and professional development projects. 3. Document and report any emergencies, behavioral incidents, medical concerns, safety concerns, or disciplinary actions in a responsible manner, following TCC protocols and promptly notifying TCC Supervisor. 4. Remain with youth at all times while serving as a chaperone; youth may not be dropped off unattended at locations such as theaters, malls, or other venues. 5. Assist with event planning, set-up, and take-down, which may require early start times.
Other Responsibilities:
1. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
1. Must have a High School Diploma or GED. 2. Must have a valid driver's license. 3. Must pass background check pursuant to federal Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act requirements and State of Alaska background check.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
1. Able to work either night or day shift living with the youth during Convention/conferences, meetings or events. 2. Serve as a role model for youth.
Supervision:
This position supervises youth during the TCC's Annual Convention, First Alaskans Elders & youth conference, Youth Summit and other conferences and meetings as assigned. Supervision Physical demands : Night shift chaperones will be responsible for facilitation of evening activities that are fun and safe for the youth. Day shift chaperones must attend the meetings with the youth.
Summation Summation :
Incumbents primary responsibility is accompanying youth at all times while attending TCC's Annual Convention, First Alaskans Elders & youth conference, Youth Summit and other conferences and meetings as assigned.
