Your passion for supporting youth will shine as you provide mentorship, encouragement, and practical assistance to help them navigate challenges and develop essential life skills. You will work closely with children and adolescents, particularly those with disabilities or behavioral health needs, fostering an inclusive and nurturing environment that promotes growth and resilience. What you'll do Build trusting relationships with youth to encourage personal development and self-esteem. Provide individualized support tailored to each child's unique needs, including those with special education requirements. Facilitate engaging activities that promote social skills, conflict management, and positive behavior. Collaborate with families, educators, and social workers to create comprehensive support plans for each child. Monitor progress and adjust mentoring strategies as needed to ensure effective outcomes. Conduct workshops or group sessions focused on life skills, emotional regulation, and teamwork. Advocate for the welfare of children in your care by connecting them with community resources and services. Experience Proven experience working with children in a mentoring or educational capacity. Background in special education or experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable. Knowledge of behavioral health principles and practices related to youth development. Strong conflict management skills to address challenges effectively and constructively. Familiarity with child welfare policies and best practices in social work is a plus. Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with youth, families, and professionals alike. A passion for teaching and nurturing the next generation through hands-on guidance and support.
