The Boys & Girls Clubs of South San Luis Obispo County is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to providing young people with safe, supportive, and enriching environments before and after school. Our mission is to ensure all youth, especially those who need us most, have positive experiences that help them reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. We are seeking passionate individuals to join our team and make a difference in the lives of local youth. Classifications:
Part-Time, Non-Exempt Youth Development Specialist Compensation:
Starting at $19.50 per hour
DOE Primary Function:
Implements youth development activities in the areas of STEM, academic and physical education enrichment programs. Duties also include but are not limited to: creating lesson plans, facilitating enrichment classes, supervising youth all while being a positive role model.
Qualifications:
  • Available Monday through Friday for our before and after school programs
  • Available Monday through Friday for our out-of-school programs (Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring Breaks) to meet the needs of our business
  • This is an in-person; year-round position
  • Available to attend our mandatory trainings
  • Reliable transportation with insurance required; ability to get to all our Club sites
  • Experience working with children preferred
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems preferred
  • Ability to communicate with youth and peers preferred
  • Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth preferred
  • Ability to organize and supervise youth members in a safe and fun environment preferred
  • Can furnish proof that you are over 18 years of age
  • Current TB Test
  • Complete the NCLB Test or Proof of 60 College Units
  • Ability to pass a rigorous background check
