The Position :
Residential Treatment Counselors for Creekside Short Term Therapeutic Program which serves Foster Care Female Youth ages 12-17 and non-minor dependents ages 18-21. Qualifications
  • Residential Treatment Counselors shall meet one of the following: Shall meet one of the or more of the requirements listed herein:
  • Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree in Social Work or related field preferred.
  • Completed 12 semester units of Early Childhood education and have 1-2 years of experience working with youth.
  • Previously been employed as a staff volunteer at a group home or short-term residential therapeutic center for 1 year, and/or prior experience with severely emotionally disturbed children and adolescents.
  • Relevant life experience in the child welfare, mental health or juvenile justice system as a consumer, mentor, or caregiver or other relevant experience as determined by the department.
Preferred Experience:
Experience working as part of a team that works with severely emotionally disturbed adolescents in a group home setting or short term therapeutic residential setting.
Position Requirements:
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Background check and fingerprint clearance
  • Physical Health Clearance (including Tuberculosis)
  • CPR Certification
  • San Bernardino County Food Handlers Permit Responsibilities:
  • Establish healthy relationships with youth that encourage positive social and emotional development, create healthy and on-going support systems.
  • RTC's are responsible for the facilitation of youth day to day life skills, activities and interventions and provides support for youth to accomplish the goals identified in their Treatment [Tx] Plans, Safety Plans and/or Individual Needs and Services Plans.
  • Assist in the development of Safety Plans/ Treatment Plans/ Needs and Services Plans
  • Case Management
  • Running Age Appropriate Daily Groups (Seeking Safety, Mindfulness, Art, Cooking, Alcohol and Drug, etc)
  • Works collaboratively with youth to address their full range of therapeutic needs while maintaining professional boundaries.
Provide appropriate supervision and engagement with youth/NMDs.

Healthcare Innovation Network Inc.'s Creekside Short Term Therapeutic Program is in the city of Mentone Ca. The facility is a 6 bed residential facility that is located on over 3 Acres of land.
