Mission:
It is our mission at Alternative Homes for Youth (AHFY) to teach, support, and model healthy life skills to youth and families by providing therapeutic and educational interventions to end violence.
Overview:
Alternative Homes for Youth (AHFY) specializes in transforming the effects of trauma, neglect, and abuse in the lives of children. Our commitment is to respond to the needs of the community and our clients by integrating current research to create individualized treatment plans and multi-modal treatment approaches which are adaptive, vital, and effective. Alternative Homes for Youth is a non-profit residential facility for at-risk adolescent males ages 15-20.
Seeking BHS:
To provide supervision, guidance, and program rule enforcement to program residents. To assist with the implementation of services as dictated by the treatment plan, individualized educational program and program design. In conjunction with other team members, to provide the above services while promoting and maintaining a therapeutic milieu consistent with the treatment program. Min.
Education and Experience:
4 year degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology or closely related field or equivalent in experience within the mental health field.

Training Trauma Informed Care Model Colorado QMAP- Qualified Medication Administration Person Informed Supervision Training Hours:
Front End- Sunday through Wednesday Sunday 9a to 9p, Monday 1:30p to 10p, Tuesday 2:30p to 10p, Wednesday 1p to 3p or 10p
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws (including licensing rules and regulations) regarding child welfare, mental health services, alcohol and drug abuse, etc. 2. Adhere to
ALL AHFY
written policy, procedures, and practices. 3. Responsible for the supervision and safety of all youth at all times. 4. Responsible for teaching and helping youth grow their life skills to better help them succeed in their futures 5. Ensure compliance with AHFY Critical Incident Reporting Procedures. 6. Complete medication certification training, First Aid/CPR training and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training and adheres to these procedures when carrying out job duties. 7. Attend weekly staff meetings and participate in treatment planning reviews. 8. Attend agency and community workshops as assigned. 9. Assist with group interventions as directed. 10. Document interventions and observations on each youth for each shift. 11. Log phone messages, appointments and other scheduled events. 12. Ensure all equipment used by the youth is safe and functional. 13. Responsible for transporting and supervising youth during community outings 14. Enforce program rules and consequences based on program procedures, individual treatment plan and individual education plan. 15. Use behavioral interventions to increase desired behaviors. 16. Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of all daily youth activities and educational programming 17. Keep all receipts for monies spent 18. Responsible for personal needs for youth assigned and emergency medical appointments. 19. To assist with program objectives and ensure that the quality of service delivery is consistent with the Employee Reference Guide. 20. Responsible for providing positive modeling and teaching relationship skills that fosters a learning environment that promotes growth and empowerment.
AHFY's Formal Communication Structure:
1. Regular attendance of staff meetings. 2. Individual supervision and/or group supervision. 3. Program communication log.
