Responsibilities Build trusting relationships with mentees by providing consistent support, encouragement, and guidance tailored to their unique needs. Implement positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) strategies within youth and adult programs to promote constructive behavior. Assist mentees with developing life skills such as communication, conflict management, goal setting, and decision-making. Collaborate with families, school personnel, social workers, and community organizations to coordinate services and ensure holistic support for youth. Maintain accurate documentation of progress notes, case management records, and program activities using Microsoft Office tools. Facilitate engaging youth development activities that foster adolescent growth, cultural awareness, and resilience. Support high-risk populations by applying trauma-informed approaches and culturally sensitive practices in all interactions. Experience Prior experience working with children or adolescents in educational, childcare, or youth program settings. Demonstrated knowledge of special education needs, behavioral health principles, and positive behavioral interventions in classroom or community environments. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or from underserved communities; bilingual skills are highly valued. Background in social work, case management, or client communication within family or child welfare contexts. Proven ability to manage conflict effectively while maintaining a positive environment for youth development. Familiarity with working in culturally diverse settings and supporting high-risk populations through youth mentoring programs. Strong writing skills for documentation purposes and program reporting.
