Job Description

Job Overview . We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Aftercare Counselor to join our aftercare team. In this role, you will create a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive beyond regular school hours. Your energetic approach will foster positive growth, support emotional well-being, and encourage meaningful engagement through structured activities. Duties Supervise children during afterschool hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Lead engaging youth group activities, including games, arts and crafts, sports, and educational projects Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive conduct and conflict resolution Provide first aid and respond appropriately to emergencies following established protocols Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff to support individual student needs and development goals Supervise outdoor activities Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and progress reports for each child Qualifications Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a respectful environment Knowledge of first aid procedures and CPR certification Background in special education or childhood development is a plus Excellent child supervision abilities combined with patience, creativity, and enthusiasm Experience in camp leadership, youth programs teaching, or sports coaching is advantageous Ability to work outdoors and handle outdoor work responsibilities confidently

$28.00 - $32.00 per hour
