After School Counselor (Part-Time) The Rosen JCC is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our Youth Programming Team! A nonprofit organization committed to strengthening our community through high-quality programming. This part-time position is ideal for individuals passionate about working with children and eager to be involved in year-round programming beyond the traditional after-school setting.

Position Summary:

Youth Program Counselors support a variety of engaging programs for children in grades K-5. This includes after-school care, school's out days, special events, weekend programs, and seasonal camps. Counselors play a vital role in creating a fun, inclusive, and safe environment where children can explore, play, and grow.

Schedule & Hours:

This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling.

Core availability needed:

Monday-Friday afternoons (2:30 PM - 6:00 PM) Wednesdays (1:30 PM - 6:00 PM) Additional hours are available through: School's Out Days, Weekend events, Seasonal programming (fall/winter/spring break camps, etc.) We follow the Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) calendar

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise children in structured activities, games, and enrichment sessions. Assist with program prep, set-up, and clean-up. Maintain a safe and inclusive environment. Foster strong, positive relationships with children and families Encourage teamwork, responsibility, and respect. Communicate effectively with the program team and follow all safety protocols.

Qualifications:

Experience working with children (grades K-5 preferred) Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and flexibility Reliable and punctual Ability to lead group activities and manage transitions Strong communication and teamwork skills CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
