Family Support Services Counselor Children's Harbor Inc - 5.0 Pembroke Pines, FL Job Details Full-time $55,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Caregiving documentation requirements Client rapport building Care documentation Driver's License Relationship management Working with families Productivity software Full Job Description Children's Harbor is seeking for a FT Family Support Services Counselor to provide in-home counseling to families referred from DCF, school, court, or self-referral. The main goal is for the family to maintain the child in the home while ensuring immediate protection for the child. The FSS Counselor shall provide interventions utilizing the Nurturing Skills Curriculum, Cooperative Coparenting, and CBT interventions. What You'll Do Your responsibilities include: Responsible for carrying a caseload of 10-12 cases. Provide initial assessment of children, family, and significant others, as needed to complete a psychosocial assessment and to develop a viable treatment plan. Meet with families once a week in-home to provide individual and family counseling concerning the treatment plan developed for each family Co-facilitate (on a rotating basis with other FSS Counselors) psychoeducational support groups every month. Groups are held during the week and some weekends. Provide case management interventions and link families to available community resources. As a mandated reporter, report any suspected abuse or neglect Be available for at least three to four evenings a week until 9:00 p.m. for regularly scheduled face-to-face sessions with clients. Provide crisis intervention for family members as needed. The FSS Counselor must be available (by cell phone) 24 hours, 7 days a week for this purpose. Maintain productivity standards by providing the required number of weekly face-to-face direct service and case management hours. Complete all documentation as required and comply with all contract requirements related to client care. Provide court testimony regarding clients when necessary. Promote a culturally competent workplace regarding employees and clients. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Master's degree in psychology, counseling, family therapy, or a related field 2 years of experience working in families.
