Overview Join our dedicated team as an After-School Counselor, where you will play a vital role in fostering a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children after school hours. This position requires a commitment of 45 hours per week, ensuring consistent support for youth development and enrichment activities. As an energetic and compassionate professional, you will implement age-appropriate programs, manage classroom dynamics, and promote positive behavior among students. Duties Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Facilitate engaging youth group activities, including arts, sports, educational games, and outdoor recreation Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management techniques to foster a respectful environment Implement youth development programs that promote social skills, teamwork, and personal growth Maintain accurate attendance records and document any incidents or concerns following established protocols Collaborate with staff to plan and execute special events or themed activities that enhance the after-school experience Provide basic first aid and respond appropriately to medical emergencies using CPR and AED when necessary Qualifications Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly desirable Strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain order and encourage positive behavior Certification in First Aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), and AED operation required; ongoing training preferred Knowledge of childhood development principles and special education needs is a plus Experience facilitating youth group activities or leading outdoor work projects is advantageous Excellent child supervision skills with a focus on safety and nurturing support Ability to work effectively as part of a team while demonstrating leadership qualities Previous experience in theater, babysitting, daycare, or similar roles that involve working with young children enhances candidacy Join us to make a meaningful difference in children's lives through dynamic programming and compassionate leadership.
