In this vital role, you will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children after school hours. Your enthusiasm and dedication will inspire young minds, foster positive behavior, and promote growth through fun and educational activities. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's lives while developing your skills in youth supervision, classroom management, and child development. Responsibilities Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities including arts and crafts, sports, educational games, and outdoor play Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and effective behavior management techniques Implement first aid protocols when necessary, including CPR and AED operation, to respond promptly to emergencies Support children with special needs by adapting activities and providing individualized attention as needed Collaborate with team members to develop engaging youth programs that promote social skills, teamwork, and personal growth Maintain accurate attendance records, activity logs, and incident reports to ensure compliance with safety standards Experience Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, babysitting, or youth programs is highly preferred Demonstrated classroom management skills and knowledge of childhood development principles Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, or willingness to obtain these certifications upon hire Experience facilitating youth group activities or teaching young children in educational or recreational environments Outdoor work experience that involves supervising children in playgrounds or outdoor settings Background in special education or working with children with diverse needs is a plus Strong team leadership abilities combined with excellent communication skills to work effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
