Site Coordinator/Supervisor Position Summary The Weekend Youth Counselor role includes direct care responsibilities, staff supervision, program management, and ensuring a safe, supportive environment for residents during weekends. Hours are Friday 3pm to Monday 8 am . This position ensures the well-being and supervision of residents, responds to emergencies, documents overnight activities, and supports the daily operations of the home. Work Schedule The weekend staff live in the entire weekend (or as assigned) from Friday 5pm to Monday 8 am . Staff must be alert throughout the shift unless otherwise authorized. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervision and Safety Monitor residents throughout the day to ensure safety and well-being. Conduct regular room and facility checks according to agency policy. Respond promptly to any emergencies, disturbances, or resident needs. Ensure all doors, windows, and entry points are secure. Resident Support Provide supervision and assistance to residents who may wake up during the night. Address minor conflicts or behavioral concerns that arise during the day and overnight. Ensure residents follow bedtime routines and house rules. Offer emotional support when youth are experiencing distress. Documentation Maintain accurate daily, overnight logs and incident reports. Document bed checks, unusual events, resident behaviors, and any incidents. Report significant events to supervisors and incoming shift staff. House Operations Maintain a clean and organized environment. Complete light housekeeping duties (laundry, dishes, preparing breakfast items if required). Prepare the home for the morning schedule and school routines. Communication Provide a detailed shift report to incoming staff. Communicate any concerns regarding resident behavior, safety, or facility issues. Follow agency policies and procedures regarding mandated reporting.

Qualifications Education:

High school diploma or equivalent. Some college coursework in social work, psychology, education, or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children or youth in a residential, foster care, or similar setting.

Skills:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors. Knowledge of child development and trauma-informed care practices. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Proficiency in basic computer skills and documentation. Certifications (may be required) CPR/First Aid certification Background check and child welfare clearance Valid driver's license (if transporting residents) Physical Requirements Ability to remain alert during overnight hours. Ability to respond quickly to emergencies. Ability to walk through the facility for regular safety checks. Work Environment This position is performed in a residential group home environment serving youth in the child welfare system. Staff must be able to manage stressful situations and always maintain professionalism. Live-in position with private accommodations provided within the residential facility during weekends. Hours are Friday 3 pm to Monday 8 am. Frequent interaction with youth who may have behavioral and emotional challenges. Regular exposure to potentially stressful and emergency situations.
