Youth Mentor and Coach HYPE Helping You Prepare for Excellence Athens, GA Job Details Part-time $35 - $45 an hour 6 hours ago Qualifications Teamwork Criminal Justice Education Working with students Counseling Psychology Social Work Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Mentor and Coach to inspire and empower young individuals and their parents in the community. This part-time paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference by providing guidance, support, and positive role modeling to youth facing various challenges. As a Youth Mentor and Coach, you will foster adolescent development, promote positive behavioral change, and strengthen family connections through engaging activities and tailored mentorship. Your energy, compassion, and commitment will help youth unlock their full potential and build resilience for their future. Responsibilities Develop trusting relationships with youth, serving as a positive role model and advocate. Implement evidence-based behavioral health strategies, including Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), to promote constructive behaviors in various settings. Facilitate youth programs focused on social skills, life skills, and personal development tailored to individual needs. Collaborate with families, educators, social workers, and other stakeholders to support the holistic well-being of each youth. Provide mentorship that encourages adolescent growth, self-esteem, and conflict resolution skills. Support youth in high-risk populations by offering guidance through challenging situations while maintaining a safe environment. Assist in planning and executing activities that foster teamwork, leadership, and community engagement. Document weekly interactions between students and/or parents from one-on-one and/or group interactions. Skills Experience working with children and adolescents in educational or community settings. Knowledge of juvenile justice practices. Background in counseling, behavioral health, social work, psychology, education, or criminal justice preferred. Strong mentoring abilities combined with excellent communication and conflict management skills. Familiarity with child development principles, especially within high-risk or vulnerable populations. Ability to implement positive behavioral interventions. Experience working with families to support child welfare initiatives and promote family engagement. Teaching experience related to youth programs or social-emotional learning is highly desirable.
