Job Description
The members and Pastor Richard Compton of Rochelle First Baptist Church are seeking the man or woman God has chosen to be our next youth director. We are a missions-oriented body, that is also very involved in our school system and our community. We are located in Wilcox County, which is a rural county in Middle/South Georgia. We are a small community with a big heart. We know that our youth are the future of our church, and we are committed to them both spiritually and financially. Currently we are in the process of building a new youth facility across the street from our sanctuary. We understand that this position is bi-vocational and that your work takes up a lot of your time. This position will require approximately 20 hours per week with a salary of $25,000 per year.
Responsibilities:
- Leading and facilitating all youth group activities, including Sunday at 6 p.m. and Wednesday at 7 p.m.
- Share the Gospel with the youth and their parents and encourage them to do the same.
- Planning, coordinating, and participating in monthly student activities and annual trips such as the MOVE Conference.
- Provide missions, ministry, and community outreach opportunities for the youth.
- Be supportive of all church activities by reasonable participation and cooperation.
- Represent the youth on monthly church council meetings.
- Take the lead in our current sports ministry outreach for our local high school teams.
- Plan and implement youth ministry communication by means of Facebook, Instagram, etc.
- When possible, attend school functions (such as awards and special programs and middle and high school games) in which our youth are involved, and possibly come and eat lunch with our students from time to time.
- A calling from God into the youth ministry, along with a personal relationship with Christ.
- Have prior Bible teaching or/and leadership of small groups.
- Have a desire to invest in the lives of our current and future students.
- Will lead under the general supervision of our senior pastor, Richard Compton.
- Agree with the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message.
- Have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a background and DMV check.
