Job Description
Join our dedicated team as a Youth Support Specialist, where you will play a vital role in empowering young individuals to reach their full potential. In this dynamic position, you will provide mentorship, support, and guidance to children and adolescents, fostering a safe and nurturing environment. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help youth overcome challenges, develop essential life skills, and build confidence for their future success. Build trusting relationships with children and adolescents through active mentoring and supportive communication Develop individualized plans to support youth's emotional, educational, and social needs Assist with daily activities such as childcare, classroom management, and behavioral interventions Collaborate with families, teachers, social workers, and community partners to coordinate care and services Implement conflict management strategies to de-escalate tense situations and promote positive behavior Monitor progress and document youth development milestones accurately in case records Promote a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols and responding promptly to emergencies or behavioral incidents Experience working with children or adolescents in educational, childcare, or social service settings Knowledge of special education principles and working with individuals with disabilities Understanding of behavioral health concepts and child welfare practices Strong skills in conflict management, mentoring, and teaching effective communication techniques Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy, patience, and professionalism Relevant background in social work or child development is preferred but not required Valid background check clearance and ability to meet all safety standards for working with minors Must have Peer Support Certification and Youth Support Certification This role is ideal for passionate individuals eager to support youth development while gaining hands-on experience in social services.
