Job Description

The University of Idaho Southern District is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Extension Educator. The Extension Educator provides leadership for the Canyon County 4-H Youth Development program while contributing to multi-county 4-H initiatives in a defined area of expertise. Responsibilities include leading county 4-H programming; recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers; and developing and delivering high-quality educational opportunities for youth. The Educator supervises a full-time 4-H Youth Development Program Coordinator and collaborates with five additional Extension educators who support youth programming throughout Canyon County. Working in partnership with University of Idaho faculty, community organizations, governmental agencies, volunteers, and clientele, the Educator plans, implements, evaluates, and communicates the impacts of research-based youth development programs at the county, multi-county, district, and state levels. The Educator also collaborates with district and statewide colleagues to strengthen educational initiatives, support volunteer and staff development, and advance a coordinated, high-quality 4-H program across Idaho.
