Job Summary The Youth Advocate plays a vital role in supporting and empowering young LGBTQIA2S+ individuals facing various challenges. This position involves working closely with adolescents to provide guidance, mentorship, and resources that promote their well-being and development. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and a passion for helping LGBTQIA2S+ youth navigate their personal and social challenges. Must be 21. Responsibilities Develop trusting relationships with youth to foster a supportive environment. Provide mentorship and guidance to help youth achieve personal goals. Educate young individuals on important life skills, including conflict management and decision-making. Facilitate group discussions and workshops focused on personal development. Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress made by the youth. Advocate for the needs and rights of youth within various systems, including educational and social services. Requirements Experience working with high school-age youth in a mentoring or supportive role is preferred. Background in social work or related fields is highly desirable. Strong conflict management and de-escalation skills to effectively address issues as they arise. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with youth and stakeholders. Ability to educate youth on various topics related to personal growth and development. A compassionate approach with the ability to empathize with the challenges faced by young individuals. This position requires dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of youth while promoting their growth and resilience.
