Youth Specialist Helen's Hope Residential Care Baker, LA Job Details Part-time | Full-time $10 - $12 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Childcare Social work Driver's License Working with children Mentoring Full Job Description Helen's Hope is currently looking for Residential Youth Specialists to serve the children in our care. As part of the group treatment team a Residential Youth Specialist cares for and supervises the children in the agency's Residential program by performing home-life training, assisting with and participating in therapeutic activities and completing supportive record-keeping functions. Youth Specialists selected will be required to successfully complete job-related trainings and pass background check. we are currently seeking candidates for all shifts (7a-3p), (3p-11p), and (11p-7a). Essential Duties:
Serve as a member of a group treatment team with the responsibility for ensuring each child successfully completes the goals set forth in their treatment plan. Care for and ensure children are closely supervised and monitored at all times. Assist children with daily life activities. Lead, supervise, and participate in recreational activities. Properly dispense medication. Provide leadership and maintain discipline of children; provide assistance with controlling disruptive behavior using agency approved methods of de-escalation and crisis intervention. Collaborate with the other staff in planning for the group or its individual members and partcipate in making decisions. Keep required patient/child records; prepare and write reports. Transport children as necessary in an agency vehicle ( current valid driver license is required).
