YWCA Minneapolis What You'll Do:

As a Beacons Center Youth Counselor, you'll provide direct service to participants in the Beacons Learning Center at Franklin Middle School. Beacons provides after-school academic and enrichment opportunities with a focus on inspiring youth to make positive decisions for themselves and their futures to students in grades 6-8th.

Plan, prepare and facilitate/co-facilitate age appropriate and culturally informed educational activities utilizing and/or creating Youth Development curriculum
Support in recruiting and maintaining program participants
Help develop and maintain a safe learning environment that is student-centered, mission-focused, and accessible to a diverse student body
Support communication and retention with participants and families Track program attendance daily and enter information into database on regular basis
Participate in educational activities and trainings for professional and programmatic development including attending and participating in departmental and Beacons program team meetings
Additional duties as assigned
