Midtown YWCA What You'll Do:

As the Girls Inc. Youth Counselor, you will provide direct service to participants with a focus on inspiring youth to make positive decisions for themselves and their futures. This part-time position provides direct service to participants in Girls Inc. OST program, ages 9-14 and supports occasional Saturday Eureka! Groups (ages 14-18) and miscellaneous workshops. There is an opportunity for full-time work during summer programming. Youth Counselors build and maintain relationships with Minneapolis Public School contacts, and other youth serving agencies, to meet necessary programming goals and objectives. This position utilizes Girls Inc. curriculum to facilitate groups during out of school time hours. Plan, prepare and facilitate/co-facilitate age appropriate and culturally informed educational activities utilizing Girls Inc. curriculum Support in recruiting and maintaining program participants Help develop and maintain a safe learning environment that is student-centered, mission-focused, and accessible to a diverse student body Support communication and retention with participants and families. Track program attendance daily and enter information into database on regular basis Participate in educational activities and trainings for professional and programmatic development including attending and participating in departmental and Girls Inc. program team meetings Additional duties as assigned

Schedule School Year:

Monday-Thursday after school hours; flexible morning and Friday hours. One Saturday a month required

Summer:

Monday-Friday 9-5pm
