Class Spec Details Supervisory:

Trains, assigns, supervises and evaluates the work and activities of Juvenile Care Workers and student interns on an assigned shift; Makes needed operational decisions pertaining to the operation of a youth care facility on an assigned shift; Contacts on-call supervisor for emergency consultations in accordance with established program policies and procedures.

Clinical:

Administers and analyzes results of psychological testing to arrive at a diagnoses; Drafts written psychological assessments based on diagnoses of psychological testing; Participates in intake interviews of youth entering a youth care facility and makes intake decisions in consultation with other supervisory personnel; Provides basic care and supervision to youth in youth care to assure that health, nutritional, educational, social and recreational needs are met.

Miscellaneous:

Develops and coordinates community resources to provide interesting and worthwhile leisure time activities for youth; Serves as a facilitator for youth activities and support groups; Supervises family visits on assigned shifts and monitors youth in all activities and situations; Performs non-crisis intervention activities as required.

Education/Experience/Training:

Graduation from a college or university of recognized standing with a Bachelor's Degree in sociology, psychology, social work, criminal justice or a closely related field; and One (1) years' experience in working with and counseling youth; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training totaling five (5) years.

Certifications:

Driver's License issued by the State of Montana; Licensed by the State of Montana as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker; and CPR and First Aid Certification (within 6 months).
