Summer Camp Instructor

Job Summary Join our vibrant summer camp team as a Summer Camp Instructor, where you will inspire and engage children through dynamic activities, educational programs, and creative play. As a key member of our camp community, you will lead groups of children in a variety of activities, ensuring their safety while promoting positive behavior and development. Responsibilities Lead engaging activities across diverse areas such as sports, arts and crafts, theater, and outdoor adventures to promote physical activity and creativity. Manage group behavior using effective behavior management techniques to maintain a positive environment. Ensure the safety of all children by implementing proper child supervision, first aid procedures, and emergency protocols. Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance by applying inclusive teaching strategies and collaborating with support staff. Foster social-emotional development through Christian counseling principles or other supportive approaches when appropriate. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and any concerns that arise during camp sessions. Assist in setting up camp activities, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the cleanliness of activity areas. Experience Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, tutoring, or summer camps is highly desirable. Demonstrated classroom management skills to effectively oversee groups of children in active environments. Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred to ensure quick response in case of emergencies. Background in early childhood education, or childhood development enhances your ability to support diverse learners. Experience coaching sports or leading recreational activities is a plus for facilitating energetic outdoor games and sports. Knowledge of behavior management techniques to promote positive interactions among children. Previous involvement in babysitting roles can contribute to creating lively and engaging camp activities.
