Youth Advocate

Youth Advocate Regular Part Time:

All Staff Requirements:

Provide service with integrity, respect, empathy, and confidentiality to youth and their families; Create a safe and structured environment to provide service that is trauma informed and is consistent with the principles of positive youth development.

Education & Experience Requirements:

High school diploma/G.E.D combined with one year education/training with the target population or one year relevant experience in a human services related field.

Primary Staff Responsibilities:

Conduct intake and discharge interviews with residents. Pass on complex intake referrals to Shelter Case manager. Supervise youth in accordance with DreamTree Project policies and procedures. Plan / participate in daily activities, including meals, chores, and recreational activities. Complete all shift documentation, including but not limited to logs, notes, incident reports, and consequence contracts. Perform urinalysis tests as required. Perform room searches for prohibited items as scheduled and as needed. Transport youth in agency vehicles to appointments, activities, school, and other venues. Answer the agency phone and cell phone, including checking voicemail and returning calls promptly. Attend scheduled one-on-one meetings with Supervisor and weekly staff meetings. Communicate facility maintenance needs promptly. Maintain facility security (e.g., lock and close all doors and windows when leaving). Maintain clean driving record based on DreamTree Project insurance requirements. Participate in the on-call phone rotation schedule. Other duties as assigned.

Overnight Security Responsibilities:

Maintain security for Casitas, including a nightly walk of the property, responding to calls from youth, and checking youth in rooms at least once a night. Follow-up on any Casitas youth absences, including re-checking rooms and communicating with Program Director, law enforcement, and parent/guardian. Enter data into tracking systems, and prepare and maintain files and blank forms. Prepare daily schedule, including activities, menu, and appointments. Check youth in Shelter rooms every 10 to 20 minutes throughout the shift. Other duties as assigned.

Additional Compensation:

$100 = 30 Days after start date $100 = 60 Days after start date
