POSITION PURPOSE
The Laboratory Assistant position is responsible for performing phlebotomy duties on inpatients and outpatients, including vein puncture, capillary puncture and specimen processing. Manages specimen accessioning accurately and efficiently to provide quality specimens for laboratory testing. Responsible for performing clerical tasks to accommodate timely and accurate laboratory testing and support department operations.

No experience necessary.
Education:
High school diploma or High School Equivalency Test (HSE) required.
Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:
Must obtain within thirty (30) days of hire valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification and must maintain current and unexpired throughout employment. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are required. Computer proficiency in Microsoft and laboratory information systems is required. Knowledge of Meditech preferred. Knowledge of and compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Knowledge of the front-end revenue cycle process, including patient registration, government and commercial insurance processes. Preferred qualifications Graduate of a phlebotomy program preferred. 1 year prior phlebotomy experience preferred. Apply Share Facebook Email Twitter LinkedIn
