LOCATION & HOURS

112 State St. Albany, NY 12207, M-F 8:30am-4:30pm; offsite clinical location within Albany County (location confidential). Potential for hybrid-remote schedule. Daytime, overnight, weekend, and holiday hotline coverage is required for this position.

DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled clinician who is passionate about assisting crime victims and providing trauma-informed care to join our team. This position primarily serves children and youth who have experienced sexual assault, domestic violence, and other interpersonal crimes, with services also provided to adults as caseload demands. The successful can- didate will have experience providing therapy to children and youth, strong clinical assessment and interviewing skills, and knowledge of trauma-informed practices. Compassion, tact, emotional maturity, sound judgment, and excellent interpersonal skills are essential. This position includes 24-hour crisis hotline coverage and may require evening and weekend meetings, events, and community activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

-Provide trauma-informed therapy, crisis intervention, assessment, and treatment planning. Conduct clinical interviews and provide individual, family, couples, and group therapy. Provide medical and legal advocacy and connect victims with community resources. Participate in 24-hour crisis hotline coverage, including responding to crisis calls and accompanying victims to medical and law enforcement facilities. Collaborate with the clinical team and supervise interns and volunteers. Provide community education on interpersonal violence prevention and bystander intervention. Maintain case records and represent the agency at community meetings and events. Training of interns and volunteers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

At least a Master's Degree in Counseling, Clinical Social Work or closely related field

AND, EITHER

A. Six (6) months of experience conducting individual therapy with children and adolescents; OR, B. Successful completion of a master's level internship with a rape crisis or victim assistance program.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

 Eligibility for and possession of a valid New York State driver's license at time of appointment;  Must be licensed or have applied for licensure from NY State as an LMSW, LCSW or LMHC within six (6) months of appointment.  Successful clearance of the required Background investigation conducted by the appointing authority. Candidates will not have to take an exam for this title. This is a Hiring Emergency Limited Placement (HELP) Program-designated title. The HELP Program is a temporary program designed to help local government employers address current staffing issues. Traditionally, the titles filled under the HELP Program required job candidates to compete in a competitive exam to be considered for employment. For the duration of the program, this title will be classified as non-competitive and categorized as a "HELP Program" position. At the close of the program, this position will revert to competitive class status. Employees occupying positions filled through the HELP Program will be granted competitive class status without the need to participate in a competitive exam.
