The Colonie Youth Center (CYC) is seeking a dependable, energetic, and caring School Age Child Care (SACC) Counselor to support our before-school and after-school programs throughout the community. If you enjoy working with children, creating positive experiences, and being part of a team dedicated to youth development, we'd love to hear from you. Responsibilities Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of children in the program. Supervise and actively engage with children during activities. Organize and participate in recreational games and activities. Monitor children's behavior and whereabouts to ensure they are never left unattended. Assist Site Supervisors with program implementation. Report incidents and injuries according to established procedures. Maintain positive communication with children, families, supervisors, and fellow staff. Support compliance with Office of Children and Family Services regulations. Maintain program and school equipment. Attend required trainings and staff meetings. Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule Before School Hours:

6:45-9:05am or 6:45-9:15am.

After School Hours:

2:45-6:00pm or 3:00-6:00pm or 3:15-6:00pm. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma and experience (paid or volunteer) working with children under age 13; OR Associate degree or completion of two years of college in a related field; OR Child Development Associate (CDA) or similar Child Development Certificate. Additionally, candidates should: Enjoy working with children. Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and flexibility. Work well independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
