Job Description
Job Summary The Inner Light Youth Program is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and creative Youth Program Facilitator to lead engaging, activity-based sessions for children and adolescents in a behavioral health setting. This role focuses on building meaningful connections with youth through structured activities, group discussions, and hands-on experiences that promote emotional well-being, social skills, and personal growth. The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with young people, can create a fun and safe environment, and is passionate about helping youth develop confidence, resilience, and positive coping skills. This is a paid position offering the opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of youth while gaining valuable experience in behavioral health and youth development. Key Responsibilities Facilitate daily group sessions for youth that include interactive activities such as games, art projects, mindfulness exercises, and team-building activities Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where youth feel comfortable expressing themselves Develop and lead structured activity plans that promote emotional regulation, social skills, and positive behavior Engage youth in creative outlets such as art, music, movement, and recreational activities to support mental wellness Build positive relationships with participants while serving as a mentor and role model Support youth in developing coping skills, problem-solving abilities, and healthy peer interactions Assist in managing group dynamics and addressing behavioral challenges using positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques Collaborate with program staff, counselors, and families to support each youth's individual goals Maintain accurate and timely documentation of participation, progress, and incidents as required Help organize special events, outings, and enrichment activities for program participants Qualifications & Experience Experience working with children or adolescents in settings such as schools, camps, after-school programs, or behavioral health programs Strong ability to lead groups and keep youth engaged through activities and discussion Passion for youth development, mental health, and community-based programming Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills Ability to manage behavior in a calm, supportive, and structured manner Knowledge of trauma-informed care, behavior management strategies, or social-emotional learning is a plus Experience with creative programming (art, sports, music, or recreation) is highly valued CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred Why Join Inner Light Youth Program?
