We provide individual and group therapy, as well as an afterschool therapeutic program for youth ages 6-14. We are committed to helping young people build emotional regulation, social skills, and resilience in a safe, supportive environment. Position Summary This is a part-time position, Monday through Thursday from 3:30-6:30 PM. We are looking for a dependable, energetic Qualified Mental Health Specialist to support youth in our afterschool day treatment program. You'll work directly with kids during group activities, help them practice coping and social skills in real time. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys being hands-on with young people and wants experience in community behavioral health. Key Responsibilities Facilitate and support structured groups focused on coping skills, emotional regulation, social skills, and self-esteem Provide direct support, redirection, and de-escalation for youth ages 6-14 throughout the program Help youth practice and apply skills from their treatment plans during group and activity time Assist with program setup, transitions, snack, and activity supervision Complete daily progress notes and documentation that meet Medicaid requirements Communicate observations and concerns to the supervising clinician Support communication with parents and caregivers at pickup as needed Maintain a safe, structured, and welcoming environment at all times Follow all agency policies, HIPAA regulations, and ethical standards Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, education, human services, or a related behavioral health field — OR an associate's degree or high school diploma with at least three years of experience working with youth and families Ability to meet Ohio QMHS competency requirements within 90 days of hire (training provided) Experience working with children and/or adolescents Ability to pass a BCI/FBI background check Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Physically able to keep up with active youth programming Preferred Prior QMHS experience or current QMHS credentialing Experience in day treatment, afterschool, school-based, or residential youth settings Training in trauma-informed care and crisis de-escalation (CPI or similar) Familiarity with Medicaid or OhioRISE documentation First Aid/CPR certification Skills & Qualities Warm, patient, and steady with kids who are having a hard time Comfortable setting limits while staying calm and respectful Dependable — our youth count on consistent faces Organized and able to finish documentation before leaving for the day Culturally responsive and committed to serving diverse families What We Offer Consistent, predictable afternoon schedule — no evenings or weekends Paid QMHS training and ongoing professional development Meaningful hands-on experience for anyone pursuing a career in behavioral health Supportive team environment and small group sizes
