Monroe County Shelter Care Inc. is a nonprofit organization that has served Monroe County for over 50 years. Right now, we are hiring part-time employees for our 8-bed co-ed home for youth ages 10-17. We are staffed 24 hours a day. 7 days a week. Our group home provides supervision, stability, and life skills for our at-risk youth in the community. We are currently looking for a part-time individual to primarily fill weekday shifts on Monday, Wednesday, and every other Friday, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. The particular duties on this shift will primarily include helping residents with transportation to and from appointments, assisting residents with homework during study time, helping prepare meals, and generally facilitating residents' weekly schedules. Duties Provide direct care and supervision to youth in residential or community-based settings, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Implement positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) to promote healthy development and manage challenging behaviors effectively Develop and facilitate engaging youth development programs that encourage social skills, emotional regulation, and life skills Collaborate with families, schools, social workers, and community partners to coordinate case management and support services Document progress through detailed writing skills in reports, case notes, and communication logs to ensure accurate record-keeping Support adolescent development by mentoring youth through individual or group activities that foster confidence and resilience Assist with daily routines such as childcare tasks, educational activities, and conflict management to create a nurturing environment Skills Experience working with children and adolescents in behavioral health or child welfare settings Knowledge of special education needs and experience supporting individuals with disabilities from diverse backgrounds Strong understanding of youth programs teaching methods, and youth development principles Proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation, communication, and program planning purposes Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse communities and underserved populations Bilingual skills are highly valued for engaging a broader range of youth and families Familiarity with positive behavioral interventions and classroom management strategies such as PBIS Excellent conflict management skills combined with compassionate client communication techniques Experience in case management, working with families, and supporting high-risk populations in community or residential environments Knowledge of adolescent development theories coupled with social work principles for holistic support
