This role provides Professional-Level SNS Services as defined by the West Virginia UM Guidelines—including: Parenting Education (structured, skill-based) Parenting Skills Development Adult Life Skills Training (organization, budgeting, hygiene, routines) Protective Capacity Strengthening Supervised Parenting Sessions (when tied to skill-building goals) Safety Planning and Home Environment Coaching Comprehensive documentation with clinical-level insight Core Duties Provide structured parenting interventions based on DHS/CPS service plans Teach skills using modeling, role-play, coaching, and corrective feedback Deliver adult life-skill-building services (communication, home routines, budgeting, organization, emotional regulation) Support families in understanding and practicing safe parenting strategies Observe and document parent/child interactions objectively Identify strengths and barriers impacting reunification Maintain communication with supervisors regarding risk, progress, or concerns Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly Communicate professionally with CPS, courts, and treatment teams as needed Required Qualifications ✔ Bachelor's degree in a human services-related field , such as: Social Work Psychology Sociology Criminal Justice Counseling Education Human Services Child & Family Studies Behavioral Science Or other related fields recognized under UM guidelines ✔ Valid driver's license and reliable transportation ✔ Clean background checks (CIB/FBI, APS/CPS) ✔ Strong writing and documentation skills ✔ Ability to remain professional during family conflict, crises, or escalated behaviors ✔ Trauma-informed approach and understanding of boundaries Preferred Experience Child welfare or CPS involvement Mental health, corrections, education, or behavioral support settings Providing parenting education or coaching Working with families in crisis
