Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a difference in the lives of students for the upcoming 26/27 school year as a Bilingual Social Worker. In this part-time, contract role, you'll use your expertise to support English/Spanish bilingual students with IEPs, contribute to general education bilingual programs, and offer additional assistance within the school environment as needed. Working just 1-2 days per week (up to 14 hours), you'll have the flexibility to balance your professional and personal commitments while making a positive impact.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Active Illinois School Social Worker license required Proficiency in both English and Spanish (bilingual skills essential) Previous experience in a school or healthcare social work setting preferred Ability to manage a diverse caseload with professionalism and empathy Strong communication, collaboration, and case management skills Understanding of IEP processes and experience working with students with special needs is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized social work services to bilingual students with IEPs Collaborate with general education staff to support bilingual programming Consult with teachers, administrators, and families to address students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs Serve as a resource for crisis intervention, student advocacy, and resource referrals Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to IEP meetings as required
