The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation. This position requires a strong understanding of menu planning, inventory control, and food handling practices within a fast-paced kitchen environment. The Sous Chef will also have the opportunity to contribute to catering events and banquet services, making this a dynamic role for someone looking to advance their culinary career. Responsibilities Assist in the development and execution of innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Oversee inventory control, ensuring that all kitchen supplies are stocked and managed efficiently. Maintain high standards of food handling and sanitation in compliance with health regulations. Supervise kitchen staff during shifts, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations. Collaborate with the Head Chef to plan special events, including catering services for banquets and private functions. Help train new kitchen staff on culinary techniques, safety protocols, and kitchen procedures. Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation, ensuring consistency in taste and appearance. Assist in managing kitchen schedules to optimize workflow during peak service times. Requirements Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the food industry. Strong knowledge of menu planning, inventory control, and food handling practices. Experience in catering services and banquet preparation is highly desirable. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage shifts effectively. A passion for culinary arts with a creative approach to cooking. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
