Now hiring for something big in the Pearl District.

Celebrity Chef Brian Malarkey is bringing his signature energy and larger than life hospitality to The Malarkey, a brand new steak and seafood destination opening this July in Portland. Chef Lalo Camarena will helm the kitchen and, in collaboration with Chef Brian, they will be bringing bold flavors celebrating the PNW through a global lens. We're looking for a Sous Chef to help lead the charge!

What You ll
Do:
Staff LeadershipHelp lead daily operations with precision, energy, and confidenceLead by example while training, mentoring, and supporting the kitchen teamUphold and enforce all food safety and sanitation standardsConsistent sense of urgency, positivity, and curiosity, helping to set the tone for the entire kitchen teamInventory ControlMonitor stock levels and assist with orderingActively seek ways to minimize waste and improve efficiencyQuality ControlOversee food preparation and execution to ensure consistency and excellenceEnsure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained, cleaned, and handledMaintain organization, labeling, and dating standards across all storage areas (dry storage, walk-in, freezer, line, etc.)Culinary ExecutionAssist with menu development, recipe creation, and daily executionDemonstrate strong knife skills and technical proficiencyOperations ManagementMaintain accurate prep lists, order guides, and inventory systemsSupport hiring, training, and scheduling of kitchen staffPartner directly with leadership to drive revenue, culture, and long-term successWhat We re
Looking For:
3+ years of proven kitchen management/leadership experienceStrong work ethic and operational awarenessAbility to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume settingExperience with scheduling, inventory, and costingA curious individual who is hungry to learn, teach, and excelBonus Points for:
