Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sous Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. In this pivotal role, you will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. Your leadership will inspire our culinary staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences across all service areas, including fine dining, catering, and banquet events. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise, team management skills, and passion for hospitality in a fast-paced, energetic environment. Responsibilities Assist in supervising kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and timely service. Lead food preparation activities, maintaining consistency and quality in all dishes served. Oversee inventory management, including stock control, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste. Support menu planning and development, incorporating innovative ideas while adhering to dietary restrictions and customer preferences. Ensure compliance with food safety standards and sanitation regulations across all kitchen areas. Manage shift operations, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and resolving any issues promptly. Collaborate with the catering and banquet teams to coordinate large-scale events and special functions. Supervise food handling procedures and maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. Assist in training new team members and providing ongoing coaching to foster a motivated culinary team. Contribute to restaurant management efforts by supporting customer service initiatives and maintaining a positive work environment. Experience Proven experience in a supervisory role within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting. Extensive background in food production, culinary arts, or fine dining environments. Demonstrated expertise in banquet service, catering operations, and event planning. Strong knowledge of food safety protocols, inventory control, and kitchen management systems. Experience managing teams with diverse skill levels while promoting teamwork and leadership. Familiarity with food handling regulations, dietary considerations, and menu planning strategies.
