Sous Chef / Line Cook

Join the team at The Custer Beacon, a popular eatery in the heart of Custer! We are currently seeking dedicated and efficient culinary hands to support our popular venue. The ideal candidate will be responsible for prepping and cooking the daily menu, producing food for a variety of large and medium scale event functions, and maintaining an established level of excellence in our operation.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes and quality standards. Assist with special events and banquets and cook and prepare a wide variety of items . Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen. Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards. Follow health and safety guidelines. Assist with inventory and ordering of supplies. Prep and Line Cooking a scratch-kitchen style menu. Use and maintenance of deep fryer, char boiler, smoker, gas range, and other kitchen equipment.

Qualifications:

Previous kitchen experience preferred. Knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail. Good communication and teamwork skills. Resident of Custer or reliable transportation is a plus. Physical fortitude to endure 4-10hr days on your feet, lifting of freight deliveries, etc.
