Aug 1, 2026 Job Description Spearman Jr. High is seeking a Special Education paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a non-certified position. Paraprofessional will assist in the Special Education setting. The district pays $466 per month towards applicants health insurance.Primary Purpose:
Help meet physical and instructional needs of individual students with disabilities inside and outside the classroom. Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans, including self-help, behavior management, and instruction programs. Work under general supervision of principal and direction of certified teacher.Qualifications:
(1) The ability to communicate effectively in English (2) high school diploma or GED (3) must be "highly qualified"; to be considered "highly qualified" applicant must meet one of the following: (a) completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (as verified by a college transcript) (b) obtained an associates degree (c) met a standard of quality as demonstrated through a rigorous five days of academic training and assessment (4) Applicant must undergo FBI Fingerprinting and a criminal history check before employmentResponsibilities/Duties:
1. Meet the individual needs of student(s) including transferring to and from wheelchair; lifting and positioning; interpreting instructions; and assisting with physical needs and personal care such as feeding, bathroom needs and personal hygiene. 2. Help manage the behavior of assigned student(s). 3. Work with assigned student(s) to develop motor skills and conduct instructional exercises assigned by teacher 4. Assist assigned student(s) throughout school day, inside and outside classroom. Includes lunchroom and playground duty 5. Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of assigned student(s)Benefits:
