Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in early childhood education with an opportunity focused on supporting children from birth to age three. This contract position involves working closely with families and young learners, providing personalized instruction and care during a vital stage of development. Based near Mound, MN, the role is designed to cover a maternity leave from early August through the start of the new year.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teacher license, with preference for Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) certification Experience working with children ages birth to 3 in educational or therapeutic settings Strong knowledge of early intervention strategies and family-centered practices Ability to travel locally for home and child care visits Effective communication and collaboration skills to work alongside other educators, including ECFE teachers Flexibility and adaptability to support the needs of families and young children in various environments
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct in-person home and child care visits to assess developmental needs and implement intervention strategies Collaborate with other early childhood educators to support student growth and learning Develop and deliver individualized education plans (IEPs) for eligible children, tracking progress and adjusting approaches as necessary Build strong relationships with families, providing resources and guidance to encourage child development Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all district, state, and federal regulations related to special education services Joining this program means helping young learners achieve their milestones while working alongside a dedicated and collaborative team.
