Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity for the upcoming school year supporting students with diverse learning needs!
Two openings are available:
one as a resource/co-teacher for middle school (6th and 7th grades), and another in early childhood special education. These roles are ideal for skilled professionals passionate about creating inclusive, supportive educational environments.Key Qualifications:
Valid Wisconsin special education teaching license (multi cross-categorical or EBD certification preferred) Experience with learning disabilities, other health impairments (LD/OHI), autism spectrum, and vision impairments Strong skills in teaching reading, math, and executive functioning strategies Ability to adapt instruction to meet varied student needs and collaborate effectively with general education teachers Comfort with occasional homebound instruction for early childhood studentsWhat You'll Do:
For the middle school position: Co-teach and provide resource support for 11 students across 6th and 7th grades with LD and OHI needs For the early childhood position: Work with 12 children ages 3 through first grade (8 full-day) facing a range of needs including autism and vision challenges; participate in some homebound teaching Plan and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) Foster an encouraging and safe learning environment, adapting materials and activities to best support each student's goals Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, parents, and specialists to maximize student success Maintain accurate and timely documentation associated with case managementDetails:
