Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Experience the opportunity to make a meaningful difference as a Special Education Teacher supporting middle and high school students in a welcoming, inclusive school community near Denton, MD. For the 2026-2027 academic year, you'll join an energetic and student-centered team in a full-time role that emphasizes collaboration and individualized support.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Maryland Special Education teaching license (required) Background in a school setting strongly preferred Demonstrated strengths in teamwork, adaptability, and classroom management Knowledge of providing support for students with disabilities such as Other Health Impairments (OHI), learning disabilities, autism, or language impairments
Your Impact & Responsibilities:
Design and deliver personalized instruction through the development and management of IEPs Work directly with a manageable caseload of approximately 10-15 students, primarily in a co-teaching model with both push-in and pull-out services Provide most services within the general education classroom, ensuring students remain engaged with peers Partner with general education teachers and school staff to maximize student growth and inclusion Regularly communicate with families, keeping them informed and involved in their child's progress Track student achievement and maintain thorough, up-to-date records as required
