Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding position making a real difference as a Special Education Teacher serving high school students in grades 9-11. This full-time contract role, based near Bremerton, WA, runs from August 3, 2026, through June 16, 2027. You'll play a key part in supporting a group of 25 dedicated students, tailoring instruction to meet a range of learning needs and fostering growth in both academic and social-emotional skills.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility for Washington state endorsement) Previous experience in special education preferred, especially with high school students Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and documentation Effective classroom management and differentiated instruction Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with students, families, and colleagues Commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
Core Responsibilities:
