Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year, supporting high school students in a dynamic educational environment near Dixon, MO. As a valued educator, you'll play a crucial role in empowering learners with diverse needs, delivering personalized instruction, and making a notable difference in student growth and success.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching certification appropriate for high school level Previous experience with high school students in a special education setting preferred Knowledge of IEP development and implementation Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff Passion for fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Design, adapt, and deliver individualized instruction to meet unique learning needs Develop and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in partnership with multidisciplinary teams Provide direct and indirect support to students, ensuring access to curriculum and positive learning outcomes Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and behavioral interventions Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school and state requirements Engage in ongoing communication with families and support staff regarding student progress Participate in professional development opportunities and staff meetings as needed This contract position invites you to create engaging and supportive educational experiences for high schoolers, while working collaboratively with colleagues who share your commitment to student success.
