Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher for kindergarten through 2nd grade students. This role is designed for dedicated educators passionate about providing individualized instruction and fostering a positive learning environment for students with diverse needs. Two positions are available for the upcoming academic year, allowing you to collaborate closely with a like-minded professional and a supportive school staff.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification. Expertise in developing and delivering differentiated lessons for early elementary students. Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills. Ability to create and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Commitment to collaborative teamwork with other educators, families, and support staff. Clear communication skills and a compassionate, student-centered approach.
Core Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction to a caseload of up to 8 students in grades K-2. Design and implement engaging, individualized activities adapted to various learning styles and abilities. Collect data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly. Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure inclusion and best practices. Communicate regularly with families regarding student goals and growth. Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with all state and federal regulations. This full-time contract position (37.5 hours per week) spans from August 11, 2026, through June 4, 2027.
