Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a dynamic high school environment as a Special Education Teacher, where you'll make a meaningful difference supporting students' growth and learning. This contract role focuses on the 2026-27 school year, with a start date of August 10, 2026 and an end date of either December 18, 2026 or May 25, 2027, depending on need. The position serves a caseload of 20-25 students and emphasizes collaboration and individualized support. In this role, you'll facilitate resource study halls, co-teach alongside general education staff, and manage essential paperwork to ensure compliance and student success. Your skills as a Special Education Teacher—and background as an LPN/LVN in a school setting—will empower students to thrive in both academic and social-emotional domains.
Key qualifications:
Special Education Teacher certification (required) Experience in a high school setting preferred Comfortable managing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and documentation LPN/LVN license with school-based experience is highly valued Collaborative attitude for co-teaching and interacting with diverse learning teams Strong organizational and communication skills Primary responsibilities: Implement IEPs and adapt instruction for diverse learners Oversee resource study halls and support students' individual needs Co-teach general education courses as needed Manage student records and required paperwork accurately and timely Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and service providers Foster an inclusive and respectful classroom environment This contract opportunity provides a flexible timeline tailored to your availability, focused on making immediate and significant contributions.
