Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary-aged students in a therapeutic setting near Dawsonville, GA. This short-term assignment provides a unique chance to make a tangible difference covering a special education teacher's medical leave (duration not yet determined). Key Details:
Start date: August 3rd 40 hours per week, including paid lunch breaks Class setting: 3 students (all elementary age), supported by 1 paraeducator and 1 teacher School environment emphasizes student well-being and therapeutic support over academics
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid special education teaching credential/certification Experience with elementary-aged children, preferably in special education or therapeutic environments Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset Adaptable and calm under pressure; experience providing emotional and behavioral support welcomed Passion for creating a safe, nurturing classroom environment
Responsibilities:
Deliver targeted support to 3 students, fostering skill development in a therapeutic framework Collaborate closely with a classroom paraeducator for effective classroom management and individualized instruction Monitor student progress, implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and communicate with support staff as needed Maintain supportive, structured routines focused on social-emotional growth In this contract position, you'll help shape a positive school experience for students needing extra support, working day-to-day in a classroom outfitted for their success.
