Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a vital role guiding high school students toward success as a Special Education Teacher for grades 9-12 during the 2026-2027 school year. This contract opportunity offers the chance to foster growth and inclusion in a single, well-supported campus, providing services both in dedicated categorical classes and through collaborative co-teaching within the general education environment. You'll have the opportunity to make a real impact by supporting diverse learners, empowering them to reach their fullest potential.
What You'll Do:
Deliver specialized instruction to students with individualized education plans (IEPs) Teach one categorical special education course Co-teach in general education classrooms to promote inclusive practices Implement IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications for student success Maintain clear documentation and track student progress Work closely with families, general and special education staff, and related service professionals Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate on multidisciplinary teams Benefit from an 85-minute daily prep period for planning, documentation, and professional collaboration
What We're Looking For:
Current, active Special Education teaching license/certification Experience with high school-aged students strongly preferred Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with diverse teams Commitment to supporting students with a range of learning, social, and behavioral needs You'll enjoy a consistent weekday schedule (7:45 AM - 3:30 PM, 35 hours/week) from August 17, 2026, to May 28, 2027, within a community dedicated to student growth and educator support.
