Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher! Located near the stunning Oregon coast, this contract position spans the academic year from August to June, offering the chance to support diverse learners in well-resourced schools. Each educator is matched with one class, ensuring a focused and manageable caseload. Openings are available in several school settings, including elementary, middle, and high school environments. Depending on assignment, you may be working with students in grades K-2 at Yaquina View Elementary with a small group (fewer than 20, no instructional assistant), or at other sites such as Siletz Valley Charter School and Waldport Middle/High School, supported by instructional assistants.
What We're Looking For:
Valid Oregon Special Education Teaching License (OR SPED License) required Experience working with students in special education settings preferred Strong communication and classroom management skills Adaptability to work independently or collaboratively Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction to students with a range of needs in K-12 settings Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Collaborate with instructional assistants (as assigned), administrators, and support staff Maintain clear, positive communication with families and multidisciplinary teams Monitor and document student progress thoughtfully and efficiently Contribute to a safe, positive, and inclusive school community Experience the fulfillment that comes from fostering growth in young learners, all while enjoying the natural beauty of the Oregon coast.
