Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a real difference as an Emotional Behavior Disorder Center-Based Special Education Teacher, working onsite in a dynamic elementary educational environment known for its innovative approach to STEM education. In this full-time contract position, you'll support K-5 students, focusing on social-emotional learning and academic growth within a collaborative and engaging school community. Utilize your expertise in special education to foster an inclusive classroom where every child can thrive. Key Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or 4) in Special Education is required. Experience supporting students with emotional and behavioral needs, especially in a center-based setting. Deep understanding of evidence-based instructional strategies, individualized education plans (IEP), and behavior management. Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver instruction to students with emotional and behavioral disorders in grades K-5, utilizing research-based methods and IEP goals. Develop and implement individualized behavior support plans. Work closely with school staff and specialized teams to foster student growth across academic and behavioral domains. Create a safe, nurturing environment that welcomes creativity, curiosity, and engineering-oriented learning experiences. Maintain accurate records and ongoing communication with families regarding student progress.
