Job Description

Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) Early Childhood Associates is seeking New York State certified special education teachers to provide SEIT services to children ages 3 - 5 at preschools in Manhattan and the Bronx. We offer highly competitive salaries and benefits, professional development opportunities, and flexible schedules where teachers select cases based on availability and location. We have cases available at well-regarded Pre-Ks in the Upper East Side, Upper West Side, Morningside Heights, Harlem, Midtown East, Hell's Kitchen, the West Village, Tribeca, the Lower East Side, Battery Park City, and throughout the Bronx. A limited amount of cases are also available in Brooklyn. The cases range from 2-hours to 20-hours per week and our reimbursement rates are very competitive. We are looking for SEITs who can commit at least 10-hours a week and who have not been directly employed by the DOE in the past 2 years.
Responsibilities:
Work 1 to 1 with children, ages 3-5 years, with developmental delays Travel to children's daycare, preschool, or home to provide instruction and support Collaborate with the family and a multi-disciplinary team to develop goals and outcomes for children Work with family members as needed on different intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement at home Maintain proper documentation to comply with state and city regulations Conduct necessary evaluations and write comprehensive reports as required by NYC DOE and NYSED Serve as the Coordinator of Services for each child, as mandated by the

Valid NYS Teacher Certification:
Student with Disabilities, Birth - Grade 2, OR Certified Special Education Teacher (Permanent) Available to take on a case or cases totaling at least 10-hours per week Not directly employed by the New York City Department of Education in the past 2 years
