Aug 31, 2026 Job Description The Ashburnham-Westminster Regional School District is seeking a special education teacher for Westminster Elementary School. Essential job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Responsible for the provision of direct classroom, small group and individual instruction including designing and delivering appropriate curriculum/programming in a variety of formats.
  • Responsible for ensuring that individual programs for students are designed as measurable and rigorous, aligned with their Individualized Education Program and the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
  • Responsible for data collection, conducting formative assessments and ongoing summative assessments to measure student growth, provide feedback and differentiate instruction.
  • Explicitly teach and promote critical social, communication and behavioral skills that enable students to be successful members of the classroom and school community.
  • Coordinate inclusion into general education classes as appropriate.
  • Responsible for supporting and facilitating inclusion in the school environment.
  • Responsible for collaborating and consulting with BCBAs, general education teachers, other special education teachers, related service providers, paraprofessionals, school/grade-level teams, district teams and administrators.
  • Responsible for collaborating with families, promoting family involvement and promoting skill generalization from school to home.
  • Responsible for serving as liaison for an assigned caseload, chairing annual review team meetings as assigned, writing Individualized Education Programs, progress notes and writing individualized student programs.
